The fruit machine designers over at Barcrest back in the 1980’s really did have plenty of fun designing the machines of that decade, and they were always eager to attach new and never seen before features to their fruit machines, as that is what players were demanding.
One fruit machine they did launch in the decade, was the Instant Replay fruit machine, which came with a rather unique feature that Barcrest never did attach to any of their later launched fruit machines, and that was the aptly named Instant Replay feature.
That was a randomly awarded bonus feature that could only ever be triggered when a player had spun in two matching reel symbols on the machines one single pay-line, and when awarded players would need to press the Instant Replay button and by doing so the third missing matching reel symbol needed to form a 3 of a kind winning combination on the pay-line would the automatically be spun in.
Due to the year in which the Instant Replay slot machine as launched, the stake levels were 10p per play and the maximum jackpot a player could win was £2 which was paid out in tokens.
This fruity had a reel symbol grid, which is how the nudges would be awarded to players, and that grid contain 3 x 3 positions with one of the reel symbols displayed on each position of that gird, and any row of three matching symbols that had been spun in would award players with 2 nudges.
A Feature Held light could illuminate at the start of any spin, and when it did any symbols that has been spun in and were lit up of the grid would stay illuminated for the next spin, to hopefully increase a players chance of trigger a set of nudges.
